Biofuels Assessment on Technical Opportunities
and Research Needs for Latin America (BioTop)

Overview
Project website

The objective of the BioTop Project is to identify opportunities and needs for improved first and second generation biofuel conversion technologies in Latin America. BioTop creates and supports specific Research and Technology Development (RTD) cooperation between Latin America and Europe.

BioTop is implemented by a consortium of 10 partners from Europe and Latin America, including Risoe National Laboratory for Sustainable Development at the Technical University of Denmark (Risoe DTU), one of URC's parent organizations.

Within the Project, Risoe DTU is responsible for:

bulletSurvey women’s participation in the RTD field of biofuels in Latin American countries;
bulletAsses tools for sustainable biomass production; and,
bulletDevelop scenarios and roadmaps for biofuel RTD in Latin America.
