The principal aims of the Development and Energy in Africa (DEA) project are:

bullet to identify and examine the developmental impacts of energy innovations and actions linked to improving energy access and poverty alleviation, and
bullet to use the information obtained to improve on-going and future energy interventions through the energy policy makers and institutions in the countries concerned.

The project is funded by the European Commission under its COOPENER programme, and co-financed by the Danish Government through URC, and the Netherlands Government through ECN.

Activities are implemented by a consortium of African partners in the target countries:

TaTEDO,
Tanzania
Centre for Energy, Environment and Engineering Zambia Ltd. (CEEEZ)
